Jordi Coromina Isern

Dr. Jordi Coromina Isern is an otolaryngologist who pioneered laser and Da Vinci robotic ENT surgeries. He is the Director of the Otolaryngology Unit at Centro Médico Teknon in Barcelona. Dr. Coromina received the César Bertrán Award from the Spanish Society of Otolaryngology for his surgical innovations.

Specialization and Surgical Approach

Dr. Coromina treats pediatric and adult ear, nose, and throat disorders. He uses organ-preserving microsurgery for early head and neck cancers. He performs CO₂ laser microlaryngology to treat laryngeal tumors with high precision. This method helps preserve voice function and speeds up patient recovery.

For children, he introduced diode-laser tonsillotomy and adenoidectomy to treat obstructive sleep apnea — a condition where breathing stops and starts during sleep. This technique reduces postoperative pain and allows for a faster return to daily activities. Dr. Coromina also performs complex ear procedures. These include cochlear implants, middle-ear reconstruction, and stapedectomy for hearing restoration.
