Dr. Marek Filipek is the first Polish urologist certified as an Ablatherm HIFU operator. He specializes in prostate disease diagnosis and treatment at Carolina Hospital. Dr. Filipek is the only doctor in his region to train medical teams in the HIFU method. He created one of the most modern urology departments in Poland from scratch.

Formazione accademica
Dr. Marek Filipek is the first Polish urologist certified as an Ablatherm HIFU operator. He trains medical teams in Central and Eastern Europe in this method. Dr. Filipek uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to treat prostate cancer at Carolina Hospital.
Specialization and Focused Approach
Dr. Filipek treats various urological conditions. He diagnoses and treats prostate diseases. The doctor performs High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) ablation. This technique uses sound waves to destroy cancer cells without surgery. Additionally, he treats benign prostatic hyperplasia and urolithiasis. He performs prostatectomy and Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) — a procedure that removes obstructing prostate tissue. He also treats urethral strictures, kidney cysts, and varicocele.

Dr. Filipek completed internships at the Professor F. Debruyne Urology Clinic in Nijmegen. He also attends American Urological Association meetings to update his skills.
Research and Recognition
Dr. Filipek has authored over 30 publications and scientific papers. His work appears in the Urologia Polska journal. He has presented findings at international congresses. The doctor participated in several multi-center clinical trials. As a result of his work, he received the Prof. Zew Wajsman award. He also won the first prize from the Polish Urological Society.
