After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1988, he completed his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He became an associate professor at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 1993 and became a professor in 2003. She is interested in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, Infertility, endometriosis and adenomyosis and has many studies, articles and trainings on these topics. Prof. Dr. M. İhsan Karaman is a urologic surgeon and professor. He specializes in prostate growth, prostate cancer, urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction, kidney stone disease, male infertility, and pediatric urology. He works as a Consultant Surgeon in pediatric urology. He has served as Chief of the Urology Clinic at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. He was also President of Istanbul Medeniyet University.

Dr. Karaman has published over 300 academic papers. He has edited scientific books on prostate cancer and pediatric urology. His work has been cited internationally more than 1,000 times. He is a founding member of the Turkish Society for Pediatric Urology and the Eurasian Urooncological Association.
