Dr. Alper Karaoglan is a Professor of Neurosurgery at Memorial Bodrum Hospital. He has many years of experience in neurosurgery. He worked at Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine and Taksim Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul. Since 2008, he has held the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor in neurosurgery.

Dr. Karaoglan is a member of the Turkish Medical Association and the Turkish Neurosurgical Society. He has received several awards. Dr. Kamran Aghayev is a neurosurgeon with over 23 years of experience. He specializes in complex brain and spine surgeries. Dr. Aghayev has performed more than 5,000 successful procedures. He is known for creating new surgical techniques, including the Posterior Upper Rib Excision & Decompression (PURED) method for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.

Dr. Aghayev holds several US patents for spinal surgery devices. He has published more than 50 scientific papers. He treats brain tumors, hydrocephalus, AVMs, pituitary adenomas, and spinal conditions such as herniated discs, scoliosis, and spinal tumors.

My 34 years of medicine – which is more than half my life… After thousands of surgeries, the excitement and sense of responsibility of the first day still outweigh it. My father was a doctor, a neurologist too. I would always give the same response to those asking what I would be in elementary and secondary school: Neurosurgeon. When I started my neurosurgery residency at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital in 1992, my childhood goal was fulfilled. Two points have always stood out from the others throughout my medical career: 1. Don’t harm anyone. 2. The most important relationship between the doctor and patient is the relationship of trust. In line with the principle of “first do no harm” in Turkish with “primum non nocere” in Latin, I have always preferred to perform secured surgeries under the microscope from smaller incisions. I didn’t perform any surgery that I wasn’t sure the patient would benefit from. So I’ve always been in a position to convince myself first of the need for surgery. Then I convince my patient. I kept in mind that the most important relationship between surgeon and patient is the relationship of trust. How can a person entrust his life to someone he saw 15 minutes ago without a relationship of trust? I cared about this relationship lasting post-surgery and even for life. I’ve had the first walks of my patients that I’ve operated in 28 years. Sometimes even after midnight many times… I’ve always cared about some patients’ feeling of their need to see their physician even at 03.00 o’clock midnight. I don’t mind giving all my patients my cell phone number. I would want my physician to be available at any time as needed. That’s what I do for my patients. In these lines, I felt the need to describe my view of medicine. Anyone who wonders anyway can reach my resume and my publications.

Dr. Idris Sertbas is a skilled neurosurgeon with experience in both adult and pediatric brain and spine surgeries. He performs complex procedures such as brain and cerebellum tumor surgeries. He also treats children with conditions like hydrocephalus, tethered cord, and craniosynostosis. In 2009, I completed my specialty training in Neurosurgery and Neurosurgery at Izmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital and worked as a specialist doctor at Istanbul Bakırköy Sadi Konuk EAH, Kanuni EAH and Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital affiliated to the University of Health Sciences. I have been working in the field of pediatric neurosurgery for 9 years. In 2024, I started to work as a Faculty Member at Biruni University Department of Neurosurgery and Neurosurgery.

Dr. Abdulkerim Gokoglu is a Neurosurgery Specialist with a PhD in Clinical Anatomy. He is known for his skills in treating brain tumors, spinal diseases, head trauma, congenital nervous system disorders, and spine deformities.

Dr. Gokoglu has broad experience managing stroke, paralysis, aneurysms, hemorrhage, tumors, hernias, and traumatic injuries. He has worked on advanced neurosurgical procedures. He also serves as a postdoctoral research assistant at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, showing his strong focus on both patient care and research.

Dr. Mehmet Ozek is a leading pediatric neurosurgeon with more than 35 years of experience. He focuses on brain and spinal surgery for children. He is well known for treating complex cranial and spinal malformations, brain tumors, and epilepsy in young patients.

Dr. Ozek has performed over 10,000 pediatric neurosurgical procedures. His work has achieved high success rates recognized worldwide. He has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and written several book chapters. His research has helped advance pediatric neurosurgery on a global scale.

He is an active member of the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery. Dr. Ozek has received several international awards for his work. He holds leadership roles in global pediatric neurosurgical groups and regularly attends international scientific meetings.

Dr. Mustafa Gurelik is a neurosurgeon who graduated from Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine in 1989. He completed his specialization in 1997. He has worked at Cumhuriyet University, Sivas Anadolu Hospital, and Malatya Gözde Hospital.

Dr. Gurelik treats brain and spinal cord tumors, brain hemorrhages, spine diseases, and traumatic injuries to the head and spine. He is skilled in pituitary surgery, shunt and endoscopic procedures for hydrocephalus, and treatments for lumbar and neck hernias. He also manages cerebrovascular aneurysms and nerve compression syndromes such as carpal tunnel. Dr. Gurelik is known for his high success rates and dedication to advanced neurosurgical care.
