Prof. Murat Sünbül is a Professor of Cardiology at İstinye University, Topkapı Liv Hospital (2025–present). He earned his M.D. from Istanbul University in 2005 and completed a cardiology residency at Marmara University in 2010. From 2011 to 2025, he served at Marmara University as a Cardiology Specialist, and then as Assistant, Associate, and Professor.
Expertise includes complex coronary interventions and coronary imaging (FFR, OCT, IVUS). He performs peripheral, carotid, and renal artery interventions and denervation. He treats structural and valve disease (ASD/PFO closure, TAVI). He provides device therapy (LBB pacing, ICD, CRT). He uses advanced imaging (TEE, 3D echo, speckle tracking) and performs right heart catheterization. He also manages heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and pulmonary hypertension.
He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers in national and international journals. His work has appeared in Herz, The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon, Cardiology Journal, and Wiener Klinische Wochenschrift.

Dr. Batur Gonenc Kanar is a leading cardiologist with training from top European centers. He studied at the Paris Institute of Cardiology, Hôpital Privé Jacques Cartier in France, and Royal Brampton & Harefield Hospital in the UK. He specializes in advanced electrophysiology. His expertise includes 3D-mapping-guided ablation for atrial fibrillation, catheter ablation, pacemaker implantation, ICD, and CRT therapy.
Dr. Kanar currently practices at Liv Hospital Vadi Istanbul. He brings international experience to Turkey and has performed over 1,000 electrophysiology and interventional procedures. He represents Türkiye at the European Heart Rhythm Association. He is also an active member of the European Society of Cardiology and the Turkish Cardiology Association. Dr. Gokhan Ertas is a Professor of Cardiology. He has broad experience in ischemic heart disease, cardiac arrhythmias, and heart failure. He specializes in advanced interventional cardiology procedures, including coronary angiography, stent placement, and percutaneous valve interventions such as TAVI and MitraClip. Dr. Ertas is skilled in both diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. These include 3D echocardiography, CT coronary angiography, and various cardiac catheterization methods.
Dr. Ertas earned his medical degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his cardiology residency at Kocaeli University. In 2020, he became a Professor of Cardiology. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Vefik Yazıcıoğlu is a leading interventional cardiologist with over 30 years of experience. He specializes in high-risk coronary interventions, chronic total occlusions (CTO), TAVI, MitraClip, and structural heart defect closures.
He has performed thousands of advanced procedures. These include radial and peripheral interventions, EVAR/TEVAR, pacemaker and CRT implantations, LAA closure, and carotid or renal interventions. Dr. Yazıcıoğlu is a pioneer in advanced imaging such as IVUS, OCT, TEE, and FFR. He uses these tools to ensure precision in complex cases.
As an influential academic, he has delivered many oral presentations and published research at national and international congresses. His work has advanced the fields of coronary physiology and hemodynamics. He is a member of the European Society of Cardiology and the Turkish Cardiology Association. Dr. Yazıcıoğlu also mentors young cardiologists at major hospitals.
Dr. Meki Bilici is a pediatric cardiologist with over 20 years of experience. He specializes in interventional cardiology and treats complex congenital heart diseases in children. He is known for his skills in minimally invasive transcatheter procedures. Dr. Bilici is also experienced in fetal and pediatric echocardiography and advanced angiographic diagnostics. Prof. Dr. Deniz Süha Küçükaksu is a cardiovascular surgeon with over 35 years of experience. He specializes in adult and pediatric cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. He leads the Heart Transplantation and Artificial Heart Center at Başkent University Istanbul Hospital.
Dr. Küçükaksu completed his medical and surgical training in Turkey. He also received advanced fellowships in Germany, France, and the United States. His focus has been on LVAD systems and heart failure surgery.
He introduced mechanical circulatory support and artificial heart programs in Turkey. He has performed many types of surgeries, including coronary bypass (off-pump), valve replacements, aortic repair (EVAR/TEVAR), and reoperations. He has also established heart transplant centers at several institutions.
Dr. Küçükaksu has held senior academic and administrative roles. He has contributed to total artificial heart surgery and hybrid cardiovascular procedures. He has received national and international awards for his scientific and surgical work.
