- Collecting: Your T cells (a kind of white blood cell) will be taken
from your blood.
- Reprogramming: A special receptor called a CAR (Chimeric Antigen
Receptor) will be added to these T cells in a special laboratory —
This helps the T cells to recognize and attack cancer cells.
- Multiply: The modified T cells are grown into millions of copies.
- Infuse: These “super-charged” T cells will be put back into your
body through an IV.
- Attack: The CAR-T cells will start to find and destroy the cancer
cells.
