LIMARP is accredited as an International Center of Excellence for Obesity by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). This internationally recognized organization evaluates and accredits surgical centers in order to advance the safety, efficacy, and efficiency of surgical care worldwide. Over two year-long periods, medical experts examined ten different aspects of our facility to ensure we consistently met and maintained high quality standards at our bariatric center in Tijuana, Mexico.
TYPES OF BARIATRIC SURGERY AT LIMARP
- Gastric Sleeve Surgery: The gastric sleeve procedure is a restrictive bariatric surgery that significantly reduces the size of your stomach and your appetite to encourage weight loss.
- Revision Bariatric Surgery: The clinic provides various revision bariatric surgery options to patients who have not achieve the favorable, long-term results they expected from their first procedure.
- Gastric Bypass Surgery: Gastric bypass surgery can help you lose a significant amount of weight, approximately 85% of your excess weight, and establish positive long-term dietary habits.
- Mini Gastric Surgery: The procedure has helped achieve weight loss similar, or even greater, to what traditional Roux-en-Y.
- Intragastric Ballon: An intragastric balloon can be a good alternative for patients who are overweight or have grade I obesity and want to lose somewhere between 30 and 45 pounds, without having to undergo bariatric surgery such as gastric bypass or gastric sleeve.
- Duodenal Switch: This special type of bariatric surgery combines the restrictive techniques of a gastric sleeve with the malabsorptive benefits of a gastric bypass to enhance weight loss.
- Laparoscopic Surgery: It is a minimally invasive type of surgery that allows doctors to perform operations using very small incisions.

I underwent a gastric bypass revision surgery at LIMARP on April 23rd, 2025, following my initial gastric sleeve procedure in 2014—both performed by Dr. Pompa. I cannot speak highly enough of her expertise, compassion, and thoroughness. She takes the time to explain every detail, which truly puts you at ease and builds trust. The nursing team and staff are equally exceptional, providing attentive care and support throughout the entire process. The aftercare at LIMARP is outstanding. If you’re considering gastric surgery, I wholeheartedly recommend LIMARP—they are truly the best in the field.

My girlfriend came for gastric bypass surgery from Canada. We were both worried about coming to Tijuana for surgery. And quick from day one everyone was absolutely perfect. I can’t say enough great things about every single person here. Dr. Pompa did her surgery and is world renowned and Veronica stands out as one of the nurses who was absolutely perfect.

I am literally getting ready to be picked up and driven back to San Diego post-surgery.
I have only very positive things to say about my entire process. From gathering early information all the way to getting discharge orders from Dr. Pompa, everything has been highly professional, informative, and met or exceeded expectations.
From the start of the pre-op diet, about 10 or so days ago, I lost 8lbs, and already, my blood pressure has completely normalized to 120/80. With proper attention to weight management and diet, one less pill to take!
If you're considering taking the step to really being an advocate for your own body and mind, just do it.
I have the initial post-op diet to comply with, but I trust the process and view this as a journey to a whole new me 😀

They took amazing care of me during my stay and surgery. I would definitely go back. Very attentive. Night and day difference, recommend the all inclusive over anything we have in the states.
