Myongji Hospital: più dettagli informazioni sulla clinica
Corea del Sud, Goyang
Founded in 1987, Myongji Hospital is a multi-specialty medical facility located in Goyang, South Korea, approximately 30 minutes from Seoul and 40 minutes from Incheon International Airport. The hospital operates 35 medical departments and 680 beds and provides comprehensive treatment for both common and complex medical conditions.
Myongji Hospital is particularly focused on the treatment of severe and high-risk diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, organ failure, and complex orthopedic conditions. The hospital combines experienced medical specialists, advanced diagnostic and surgical technologies, multidisciplinary cooperation, and dedicated services for international patients.
Its major areas of expertise include cardiac surgery, robotic surgery, organ transplantation, oncology, orthopedics, urology, liver diseases, women’s health, hair transplantation, and comprehensive health screening.
Cardiac Surgery and Cardiovascular Care
Myongji Hospital provides diagnosis and treatment for cardiovascular diseases, offering both surgical and minimally invasive treatment options.
The cardiac surgery team performs coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve surgery, aortic surgery, heart transplantation, and minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
One of the hospital’s key areas of expertise is totally endoscopic coronary artery bypass surgery (TECAB). Using the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system, surgeons can perform coronary bypass surgery through small incisions without conventional sternotomy.
In 2026, the Myongji Hospital cardiac surgery team successfully performed Korea’s first totally endoscopic robotic coronary artery bypass procedure for multivessel coronary artery disease using the da Vinci Xi system.
The hospital also provides comprehensive cardiovascular care for coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, and other heart and vascular conditions, including cardiac rehabilitation after treatment.
Organ Transplantation
Myongji Hospital operates transplantation programs for four major organs:
- Liver transplantation
- Kidney transplantation
- Heart transplantation
- Lung transplantation
Patients are evaluated by multidisciplinary teams involving transplant surgeons, physicians, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other specialists.
The hospital provides medical assessment before transplantation, surgical treatment, postoperative intensive care, immunosuppressive therapy, and long-term follow-up.
For international patients considering living-donor transplantation, the International Healthcare Center assists with the initial medical review, document preparation, communication with the medical team, and coordination of the treatment process.
Liver and Liver Cancer Treatment
Myongji Hospital provides comprehensive care for liver diseases, including hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, liver failure, and liver cancer.
Treatment options are selected according to the patient’s condition and may include surgery, liver transplantation, interventional procedures, radiation therapy, systemic therapy, or a combination of several methods.
Patients with severe liver disease can receive close monitoring in the hospital’s dedicated liver care facilities.
For liver cancer, specialists evaluate tumor size, location, liver function, vascular involvement, and the patient’s overall condition before determining the optimal treatment strategy.
Cancer Treatment
Myongji Hospital provides multidisciplinary cancer care with cooperation between surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists.
Depending on the type and stage of cancer, treatment may include:
- Surgery
- Chemotherapy
- Targeted therapy
- Immunotherapy
- Radiation therapy
- Minimally invasive procedures
- Robotic surgery
Diagnostic examinations such as CT, MRI, PET-CT, ultrasonography, endoscopy, laboratory testing, tumor markers, and biopsy are performed when medically indicated.
The hospital treats a wide range of cancers, including liver cancer, breast cancer, thyroid cancer, gynecologic cancers, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, and gastrointestinal cancers.
Breast Center
The Breast Center provides diagnosis and treatment for benign breast diseases and breast cancer.
Diagnostic examinations may include mammography, breast ultrasonography, MRI, CT, PET-CT, laboratory tests, and biopsy depending on the patient’s condition.
The hospital uses digital breast tomosynthesis for more detailed breast imaging and stereotactic vacuum-assisted biopsy when tissue diagnosis is required.
Patients diagnosed with breast cancer are referred quickly to appropriate specialists so that further examination and treatment can begin without unnecessary delay.
Treatment may include breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy according to the individual diagnosis.
Thyroid Center
The Thyroid Center provides diagnosis and treatment for thyroid nodules, thyroid dysfunction, autoimmune thyroid disease, and thyroid cancer.
Diagnostic examinations can include thyroid function tests, antibody tests, ultrasonography, CT, PET-CT, thyroid scans, fine-needle aspiration, and tissue biopsy.
Treatment is selected according to the diagnosis and may include medication, surgery, or nonsurgical procedures.
For selected benign thyroid lesions, nonsurgical treatment such as alcohol sclerotherapy may also be considered.
Gynecologic Cancer and Women’s Health
Myongji Hospital provides diagnosis and treatment for cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, and other gynecologic diseases.
Treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal therapy, and multidisciplinary cancer treatment.
For selected patients with early-stage gynecologic cancer who wish to preserve fertility, fertility-preserving treatment may be considered after detailed evaluation.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology also provides care for a wide range of noncancerous gynecologic conditions.
Urology
The Department of Urology provides treatment for prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, urinary stones, urinary disorders, urinary incontinence, congenital urologic abnormalities, and male urologic conditions.
For prostate and kidney cancer, specialists provide individualized treatment based on imaging, pathology, cancer stage, general health, and other clinical factors.
Treatment may include open, laparoscopic, or robotic surgery as well as medical and multidisciplinary cancer treatment.
Robotic Surgery
Myongji Hospital uses the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system for selected complex and minimally invasive procedures.
The system provides surgeons with high-definition 3D visualization and articulated instruments designed to allow precise movements within confined anatomical areas.
Robotic surgery may help reduce the size of surgical incisions and enable precise dissection around important nerves, blood vessels, and surrounding structures.
The technology is used in several surgical specialties depending on the patient’s diagnosis and medical indications.
Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
Myongji Hospital provides specialized treatment for diseases and injuries of the joints, bones, muscles, ligaments, and spine.
The orthopedic team treats conditions affecting the knee, hip, shoulder, upper and lower extremities, as well as sports-related injuries.
Treatment options include conservative treatment, arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction, meniscus surgery, cartilage treatment, joint replacement surgery, and rehabilitation.
The orthopedic team also treats knee and sports medicine conditions, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries and complex knee conditions.
For international patients, online consultations can be arranged before traveling to Korea so that specialists can review medical records and imaging in advance.
Hair Transplant Center
Myongji Hospital also operates a specialized Hair Transplant Center, providing both FUT and FUE hair transplantation, hairline correction, and treatment for male and female hair loss.
The center is led by Professor Hwang Sung-joo, former President of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).
Treatment is individually planned according to the patient’s degree of hair loss, donor area, hair density, facial proportions, and desired result.
In addition to hair transplantation, the center provides hairline correction and scalp micropigmentation for selected patients.
Comprehensive Health Check-ups
Myongji Hospital offers comprehensive health screening programs ranging from general check-ups to advanced and VIP examinations.
Programs can be customized according to age, sex, medical history, family history, and individual risk factors.
Available examinations may include blood and urine tests, cancer screening, ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, cardiovascular examinations, women’s and men’s health screening, and other specialized tests.
International patients are accompanied by a coordinator who assists throughout the examination process and provides interpretation during medical consultations.
Most comprehensive check-ups can be completed within one day, and results are generally prepared within approximately one week.
International Healthcare Center
Myongji Hospital has provided specialized services for international patients through its International Healthcare Center since 2010.

GOOD

Recentemente mi sono tagliato l’alluce e ho dovuto recarmi d’urgenza all’ospedale Myongji.
