Prof. Dr. Cemal Asım Kutlu is a leading thoracic surgeon in Istanbul. He heads the Thoracic Surgery Department at Central Hospital. He has decades of experience and international training. He is known for complex thoracic surgery and innovative techniques.

He achieved several firsts in Turkey. These include the first successful lung transplantation, the first robotic lobectomy, and the first Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP).
